'Involuntary Guests: Enemy Aliens and Political Detainees on the Isle of Man in World War 2'. The author, Alan Franklin, is a retired Chartered Librarian with over 40 years’ experience of working in libraries. For 23 years he was librarian at the Manx Museum in Douglas and met with and corresponded with numerous former internees and researchers into Internment: this book draws on that knowledge. 'Pleasure, Privilege, Privations' was an exhibition (Tue 1 May - Sat 7 Jul 2018) exploring both the British and German heritage and history of a forgotten piece of land sitting between Wakefield and Leeds - Lofthouse Park. The exhibition looked at its history between 1908 and 1922, and included details of the German Pork Butchers presented by Karl-Heinz Wuestner. An accompanying book has been published: "Pleasure, Privilege, Privations – Lofthouse Park near Wakefield, 1908-1922". Edited by Claudia Sternberg and David Stowe, Biddles Books Ltd, Leeds 2018.
