Society Library
The Society owns a significant library of about 800 books, covering a broad range of topics:
| German Research | British Research | Fiction |
| German Emigration | Church | Internment and POWs |
| German History and Culture | Computers | Military |
| Germans in Britain | England – Travel | Miscellaneous |
| Germany – Travel | Family Histories | Research – other books |
The collection also includes many photos, maps, pedigrees and certificates. These may be borrowed only by members of the Society in the UK. To enable easy access to the book catalogue and the ability to perform searches, this is now being made available on the Internet through the LibraryThing website. Instructions for accessing and searching this online catalogue are provided - LibraryThing Instructions (please note this will open a new window). Alternatively a listing of the books and also of the other formats of documents may be viewed or printed out by clicking the "Catalogue" link on the left.
When ordering books by post, please complete the order form - Library Order Form, or send full details in an e-mail. No direct charge is made for borrowing library books. The Society bears the cost of postage when sending the book(s) to you, while you are then liable for the postage when returning them to the Librarian. Please return the book(s) within 6 weeks of receiving them.
Books not available for loan
Society publications listed in the Library Catalogue which are still in print and available through the Society Bookshop cannot be borrowed. Also a few of the larger size books cannot be easily sent through the post due to the difficulty with packing.
If in doubt contact the Librarian.

Requests for loose-leaf items listed under Pedigrees and Certificates will be met by sending photocopies (number of pages are indicated) and need not be returned. When ordering, please enclose 2x 2nd class stamps.
Please send the completed order form to: The Librarian. The address is on the inside front cover of the current Mitteilungsblatt.
